Soda Glazing
Soda Glazing is a technique where sodium bicarbonate is added to the kiln during the firing process. The sodium released from the bicarbonate reacts with the silica in the clay forming glass, giving a unique sheen and the characteristic mottled or "orange peel" effect.
All Soda glazed pieces are fired to Cone 8-10 (above 1,200 C) and the glazes are food safe.
